The United Nations declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity.
After 3 days trying to get used to a new kayak and a new and unfamiliar coastline in Pembrokeshire I had 2 interesting and nervous days of assessment. My two assessors, Dave and John, ordered me into currents, around headlands, into caves and to land our kayaks English style: on rocky small shelves with some nice waves :) This was a real good exercise that find the gaps in your personal abilities and lacks in your leadership. I have to find some rapid tidal race to do regulary training sessions in: I need it!!

The International Ecotourism Sosiety TIES has a similar definition. Both TIES and Norsk økoturisme (Ecotourism Norway) are the platfroms that I have used to redefine Lofoten Kajakk. This changed the range of activities that we offer, but we are now a "Certified Ecotourism Norway" company. This is the whole company, not just some activities!!!
