Practical info
The courses are held by highly skilled instructors and training is based on our core philosophy, where good guidance provides a solid foundation for developing your skills to be the most self-reliant, free-spirited and talented paddler you can be.
Our courses are of 15 to 16 hours over 2 days. We start with 2.5 hours’ theory, in our classrooms at the “Arbeideren”, the community house in Kabelvåg. Then we drive to the Lofoten active base, for adapting equipment before getting on the water at Ørsvågvær Camping.
Day One
We meet at 0900 by Arbeideren at the market square in Kabelvåg. Entrance is on opposite as the Coop Extra shop. After the theory lesson, we drive to our base in Rødmyrveien 24, fitting dry suit and neoprene shoes & gloves, life jacket and spray skirt.
Do you have a size of smaller than 38 in shoes or Small jacket, or larger than 45 / XL; Please make us aware of this. We go in the water at Ørsvågvær Camping.
What you should bring for the two days:
★ Extra change of warm clothes (preferably wool) for upper and lower body and feet. A thin fleece will be nice early in the season and on windy days.
★ Food and drinks both days (preferably both cold and hot drinks). NB remember a cup for the tea/coffee!
★ A small drybag or bag to put stuff in on the trip on day two.
